Hero & Heroine
Nikki Greene: She is the oldest girl in her giant family. She has daddy issues since her father cheated on her mom. She doesn’t believe in marriage and doesn’t want her family to pressure her into getting married and having kids, since she is the next in line to do so.
Logan Stone: Famous MMA fighter. He is the best and seems like a sweet guy. His mom describes him as an old soul as he doesn’t hook up with random girls. He has a good feeling about Nikki which is why he wants to pursue what is going on between them. He tries to make Nikki at ease with their sudden marriage. He literally does everything just for her.
In the previous book (My Almost Ex) it’s discovered that Nikki is married, and her husband shows up at her brother’s brewery.
Nikki and her best friend Molly go to Vegas for a girls trip. They watch an MMA fight which Nikki is disinterested in unlike Molly and her brothers who love Logan Stone.
Nikki wakes up from her drunken night spent in Vegas. She thinks she is in her hotel room but really in someone else’s. And it’s her husband if you didn’t know. Nikki freaks out and immediately asks for an annulment, however, Logan is calmer and actually likes this whim of a marriage. He believes he married her for a reason, and he wants to find out what that reason is.
She immediately freaks out and books a flight back to Sunrise Bay, Alaska.
While at the Truth or Dare brewery Nikki’s entire family is there. It is there that Logan shows up and everyone discovers that he is her husband.
Logan makes a deal with Nikki since she wants an annulment, and he wants to see where this thing goes. He agrees to help her set up her podcast in return they stay married.
He moves to Sunrise Bay and grains there until his fight. They pretend to be married and get to know each other. Nikki is reluctant but slowly starts to warm up to him.
I think Nikki doesn’t accept him till 50% of the book is where she finally accepts him and lets her in.
There is not a big climax as this is a simple read. Logan and Nikki were able to work out their differences and start a life together in Sunset Bay. HEA
I thought this was a cute simple read. I loved Piper Rayne’s previous books about the Bailey family. The family theme is one I enjoy reading especially the funny banter with the siblings and their grandma. The rest of the Greene family, especially Ethel, was hilarious.
