I’m going to review the entire trilogy since it is kinda short (well for me) and I know I can condense it to one blog post!
- Enemies to Lovers
- Secret organization
- Cold hearted hero
- Warm hearted heroine
Hero & Heroine
Santiago De La Rosa: One of the founding and most powerful families of IVI. He is a Sovereign Son. So, there was an explosion that caused him to have terrible scars on his face and body. He covered them all with tattoos so that makes him look extra scary. His heart is cold as stone. He marries Ivy to seek revenge against the man he once looked up to and respected, her father Eli.
Ivy: was going to school until her brother Abel forced her to marry Santiago. Her family isn’t ranked high on the society class. Ivy’s father was in a coma therefore leaving Abel to be the head of household. She cares for her siblings and family, but not so much her mother.
Santiago was a number prodigy that Eli kept under his wing in teaching him. They hold the funds for their secret society. Santiago trust the man and they spent quite a lot of time together. Until the betrayal. Eli is suddenly in a coma leaving Abel head of their household. Santiago seeks revenge against Eli by marrying his daughter and making her life a living hell.
Throughout the first two books Ivy and Santiago’s relationship is strained. He tries to pull away from her and control her. He doesn’t trust her. She is trying to navigate this new life of hers the best she can. She is required to have his children and that is it. Santiago plans to have a loveless marriage and torture his wife. His sister also wants revenge against Ivy’s family.
Santiago doesn’t trust Ivy. At a IVI party he was poisoned by her kiss therefore calling her poison Ivy.
It isn’t until the second book where it is discovered that Ivy is pregnant and that she wasn’t the one to poison Santiago. Her brother Abel is sketchy and when he learns that his half-sister is pregnant he creates a plan to fix that problem of his.
The end Santiago did a full 180 in his whole attitude. He no longer is the brooding maniac. He actually is more emotional in the third book. All questions are answered and justice is served. Ivy and Santiago are together and start their family. Eva is also a great addition as her and Santiago’s relationship blossomed in the third book.
The third book Santiago’s attitude did a full 180. He no longer was a brooding manic type anymore, but a loving husband. He cared about Ivy and her little sister, but he chose Ivy over his sister which showed a lot of how he has changed.
He no longer held a strong vendetta against their family. He started letting more light into his mansion and no longer was ashamed of his complexion. Ivy also did a 180 and no longer despised the society and she accepted it and her role in it. Her daughter will grow up in society traditions.
I think if you love a secret society, dark romance then this is definitely a trilogy to read. If you like this book then you should read The Silver Swan (Elite King’s Club) by Amo Jones.
